Marty... I know this is a little late, but thanks so much for your response to my blog. I'm still learning about "blogging", so I never realized your comment was sitting in my inbox waiting to be approved. Oh my... but anyway, thanks again. I went to your website - had to check it out - and was impressed by your design. Nice work.

I truly hope things get better for all of us!

Followed "swarfblogs" link to this site..well done, and am glad to hear some optimism for a change! Let's all turn off the 10:00 news (the major-league journalists won't buy our 'stuff' anyway) and get to work!

Elizabeth! What a lovely blog you have! I was so excited when I saw the name of your blog. Snap. Already, I feel a kindred spirit... not only because our husbands are machinists.

It is so good to see another wife involved in a family business and proud and honoured to help out. I've met a few people here in Australia that actually think my husband's name is Machinist. We do enjoy a chuckle about it.... There are so many ups and downs with owning and running your own business - nobody else would know - unless they did it themselves. By the way - what is ISO? We probably have it over here under another name...

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I love the way you write. Please keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more about your life with the Machinist.

Best wishes,
Helen

Hey Terry!

It's definitely going to be a busy year for us! I'm psyched for it though... all this great stuff is happening. We're looking forward to working with you too Terry! Advanced Machine is on the move in 2009.

Maybe someday I'll be able to hire my own assistant? (just dreamin'....)

hello liz,

you've seen my intro email to you both and Mike and I have talked as recently as today. Looks like we might get to work together on your ISO and AS QMS. I'm also grateful for NCMBC and the opportunities I am finding to support folks like you in your quest to do business with the "gummit" as Reagan used to call it. My quest is to help NC firms become as competitive as possible through their Quality Systems, applying Lean methodology (the Toyota system), and whatever other continuous improvement initiatives we can bring to bear. see you soon,
